It effectively picks you up by providing a steeper set angle, higher sagged bottom bracket height, and firmer suspension feel. There is a great balance of geometry traits for uphill comfort, tricky and steep ascending capabilities and a playful descending character. There is also the argument that plus size is perfect for hardtails to soften the ride out the back, but softening the ride of full suspension bike is hardly necessary. I will continue on my air-shocked 2010 Bighit with ProPedal and Talas 180 until I can afford a Liteville. The TrailStar compound Nobby Nic on the front has an aggressive shoulder tread, capable of holding a line through corners. Personally, when I do lock out my shock and fork for a long climb, I often forget to unlock them when it comes time to descend. This additional width means greater triangulation for spokes, making the wheels more laterally stiff and durable.

This made it really tough to achieve a sense of balance at speed. Scott recently absorbed the well known component manufacturer Syncros, so expect to see more of this good stuff. Tests indicate that rolling resistance increases by about 1%, but when you consider the benefits, this cost looks to be overcome by the benefits the greater width brings. It did not climb as well as my Niner, and definitely was not as stable roaring downhill over loose chunder. Genius 50 and 40 are cheaper, aluminium framed versions made using 6061 custom butted aluminium alloy.

The bike pedals great, it does have great enduro geometry and it can take any obstacles it does met. All told, I put in over 75 miles of riding in a few short days aboard the Genius. Looks like a bike to me. When no line choice is required, and a more straight line approach is adopted, things got really fun. What kind of control are we talking about here? Push the upper black lever forward one click and it switches from descend to trail. It makes an average rider like me descend like a champ.

The Twinloc is a perfectly effective system controlled via a neat and ergonomic lever. Read on for my impressions. This is classic Genius, with a three position lever allowing total lockout of both front and rear, fully open and something in between. Today he builds some of the best trails in the world. The level of grip is really impressive and allows for a creative approach to riding which re-invigorated us on our tried and tested local trails. Kod nas ga vec mozes poskusit.

Skinny-tire aficionados are out of luck. Another flick of the lever locks out both the front and rear suspension, allowing the rider to have zero influence on the suspension for extended road climbs. A short stem and wide bars were faves too. While I thought that a similar system was unnecessary on the shorter travel Scott Spark, I actually found it to be pretty useful on the Genius more on that below. Because of the adjustable suspension travel, the geometry can be great for climbing.

There is a low-speed compression adjuster for the fork, but with this tuned in for a firmer ride we felt off the back when the rear end would go through travel easier than the front. At least that way you are not stuck with fox and you put a ccdb air and some pikes or xfusion suspension on it so it actually rides better! This is of course a small issue, and a fluke in our mind, but regardless we couldn't come into sections as fast as we wanted to because we could never get full stopping power out of the front. Additional features include a press fit bottom bracket, optional direct front derailleur mount, optional dangler-style lower chainguide on the chainstay, and a chain blocker to prevent frame damage should the chain fall off the inside. I have and i can say that the guy that Tested this bike didn't do it on a track that this bike is built for. But with its 170mm of travel and a 28 pound weight, how does this bike perform as a versatile go-to bike? Your confidence will increase thanks to the better grip on the trail, and your fatigue will decrease thanks to the greater comfort. The head angle is slack for more relaxed descending. Our first bike, Boots Electric, is a neon dream we copped from the gracious crew over at.

The suspension seemed to stick the tires to the driest of terrain without a problem. Enduro racers take note, this thing can jump forward like mad and cover ground with rapid pace. Twinloc allows you to control the rear travel quantity and compression lockout via one very nifty thumb lever. It's simply rapid; there is no feeling of drag and with the shock locked out you can hammer as hard as you like with no bobbing around. I want this bike so bad but it's something I'll never be able to afford.

No fancy gimmicks, endless set-up options. As expected, we never dropped a chain, and there were no rubbing or setup issues to report. And in an age of brightly branded bikes, we welcome this murdered out stealth black ride. The Liteville bikes are promotet like crazy in european magazins but for me they felt not very nice, the S-Works had a great rear suspension but the whole geometry of the bike did not fit for me, the E1 was great on downhill but very heavy and for all round use to slow uphill. . In 'Descend' mode, the shock's two air chambers are set wide open. I can't help feeling that 160mm of travel in addition to the large tyres give too much of a disconnect between the rider and the trail.
